Da Nang, Vietnam marks the first city in a series of MIST Startup Hackathons aimed at developing responsible, sustainable tourism in Cambodia, Lao, Myanmar, and Vietnam. But Da Nang is only the beginning. The best startup teams from the competition will be invited to an intensive bootcamp and Demo Day at the 2017 Mekong Tourism Forum in Luang Prabang, Lao PDR. “Innovation and technologies are transforming the world’s tourism sector, but the Mekong region has lagged behind.
